The standard of work carried out by Marley Contract Services, where houses are priced up to £1.175m, resulted in winning the 2013 NFRC Scottish Contractor of the Year Awards.
This northerly part of the UK, where wind driven rain can be an issue if there is poor quality of workmanship on site, lead to developer CALA Homes appointing Marley Contract Services due to our specialist in-house skills to complete work to the required standards.
A key requirement set by the developer was that the roof should complement the light grey stone exterior of the properties. Using Edgemere tiles with a single-lap flat interlocking design in smooth grey to achieve this, the development sits harmoniously in its picturesque surroundings.
The work on site for Marley Contract Services was far from straightforward with a requirement for a series of hipped dormer windows, along with a combination of large hipped and gable roofs.
This required accurate installation of the underlying sub-structure, trimming of tiles and completion of a number of intricate valleys, flashings and rainwater systems along with a dry fix system, RidgeFast.
Cala Homes’ project manager Raymond Will, said: “These properties are built to a very high standard and Marley Contract Services deserves the recognition it gained in the NFRC roofing awards. It is testament to the skills and experience of their in-house team who worked on site.”
